Discuss what? The Pentatex web site says they make fabric for technical outdoor clothe. Has somebody made a Pentatex kite?

Search and you shall find...

The forum is already talking about it on the 2021 threads without knowing what they are actually talking about. Marketing 101.

Penta TX and Pentatex have little in common, probably only the the name.

P. S. Penta TX, as Quad is already taken, just follows the marketing language... D2, Trinity TX, Quad Tex.... Hexa TX next year. Oh, Hexa might be taken by Crazy Fly already, so then Hepta or Octa to come.

The claim behind the Penta name - '5 times more tear resistant' is of very little value for the kite performance and durability. Same as the Aluula extreme tear resistance.
Other specs make this 'dacron replacement' interesting. Kudos to the guys who developped it, while Teijin and DP were taking a nap.

Wrong about what.. Penta TX and Pentatex?
The factory where Penta TX is made makes a wide variety of woven technical and sports fabrics. But that means absolutely nothing.

I had an earlier version of the Penta TX im my hands last year. Very innovative approach to making a fir to purpose LE cloth. But definitely not a rocket science like Aluula.

That pentatex was following the d2, trinity etc naming structure

But yes closer on application, who is making a song and dance about Light weight kites currently that isn’t ocean rodeo?

Also what makes you think that rocket science ( allula) is the correct type of fabric for the job in hand? After all the two kite companies were in partnership and went their separate ways over it.

All the hype around the Aluula OR kites must have caused many sleepless nights at Duotone. They had surely planned the Penta TX as the next big thing in kite tech and then that space shuttle landed before they even launched their E-Truck. Don't get me wrong, all my due respect to the team at Duotone and to the supplier who developed Penta TX. I do believe that it's the right approach to material innovation and evolution.
And Aluula is in my opinion just a super high tech stuff in testing phase before it hits other much higher potential applications than kites.
Not scalable production (to bring cost) down, same as cuben fiber btw. A nightmare to assemble. And needs time to prove longevity for this application. A Ferrari basically.

As for that lame video showing nothing more than what Duotone published already in their last magazine (p. 80 / ULW project), I believe is just a dirty marketing trick (therefore not their own production) to draw the attention away from Aluula until they sell the planned SLS kites and come up with this technology or similar.

It would perfectly match their market leader strategy to have all their kites' LE made of Penta TX and an exclusive Aluula edition to whip the cream. Duotone can pull this off better than any other brand at the moment.

Sorry for the long reply ;)
