Cabrinha overdrive bar - tubing out of trim

Postby Sangokai » Sun Sep 13, 2020 8:04 am

Hello all,
Following a self rescue, the pu tubing got out of where it is supposed to be.

See pictures attached. I tried to force it back in place but no success so far.

Any idea ?

Dismantle it and put it back together. It's not so hard. You can do it from either end.

Take the chicken loop off the swivel. Pull out the spacer. Put a loop of line on the end of the line up the tube. Pull some slack up the cleat end. Reseat the cleat. Pull the line. Reassemble.

You have to really pull the line back out the bottom and push the tube up to get enough slack to put the line around the swivel thing.

You should also inspect the line where it passes the base of the cleat. It can wear through at that point. It's a double line so there's little chance of it breaking.

Thank you for your reply.
By the time you replied I had managed to force it back in place.
I’ll know that I can dismantle it next time!
