Hey! I'm curious about the wind range (on the upper end) of the orbit 2021. I have 9m and 11m enduro v3s. I'm looking for a fun big air kite that I could still loop (unpowered for now).
I find 7ms generally quite fast and unstable so ideally would like an 8m, but being 63kg I'm unsure if I could handle an 8m up to ~32 knots. The 9m enduro takes me up to about 25-26kn. Would you suggest a 7m or 8m orbit for the upper range?
The top end is where the Orbit shines. If you're overpowered on a 9m Enduro at 26kn, you'll probably be okay on the 8m Orbit @32kn, but it will be approaching your limit at probably @35kn.
But this depends on weight & riding/board style - my 10m Orbit2 is best in 30-35knots, so far it hasn’t been windy enough to use my 9 or 8m

Yes. My comment was based on what he said he was riding in the 9m Enduro in those conditions, so I adjusted accordingly for about what I would say to ride the Orbit. The Enduro has a reasonable top end as well. You don't really need any other information in this instance.

Fellow instructor on the beach let me try out his ‘21 Orbit 10m in 27mph winds gusting to 35.I weigh about 97 kgs (214 lbs) atm.

Very positive experience for a Big Air guy like me. Even when the wind was not nuking the kite would load up nicely and put you into the air elevator style. It loves a rider using proper technique of load/pop then boost once airborne and will let you integrate a kicker/wave as well. It is not for lazy jumpers who only boost.

Not greatest low end but not terrible. The kite LOVES to kiteloop and will reward you for doing lots of loops. The loops are smooth with most of the power delivered /spread out over the front half of the loop and softness on the back half of the loop.

Hang time was decent - not a Rebel hanglider bUt more than enough for tricks.

Kite sits deeper in the window than other 5 strut big air booster kites like the Rebel or XR6/7. You need pair it with a board that offers alot of upwind drive - I was using a Jaime Textreme 142.

If you know how to jump and loop the kite is great for high wind conditions, left me with a positive impression.

Could someone give me some experience on the 11m orbit. Already have 9m. I would like to know if it still loops and catches you or is a 10m the maximum size voor looping easily. Doubting between 10m pivot which I know works with looping, 10m reach or 11 orbit.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards

11m is good for looping. Paired with a decent sized board I can loop in 20kn at 100kg.

It's my most used kite. For me it's better for board off loops as it gives you that .5-1 second extra hangtime after the catch.

Addendum to my other post: The 2021 version.

Don't do the 2020. The 11m 2020 will loop, but it doesn't have that lightning acceleration the Orbit is known for.

What about the longevity. Have heard the build isn’t great and kites looking tatty after a short time. Is this correct. I was told this today and not saying that cause connected to another brand. I am genuinely interested in getting an orbit as it does seem like the type of kite I would like.
