Hi,
I would be really interested in how you guys attach/fix the rope on the inside of the spreader bar (with a knot or pin or...)?
An exchange with fotos would be great. I think the most wear and tear is in this part of the rope and not towards the middle of the rope where the chickenloop slides?

This is what I use.

I cut the hook of an Ion harness and replace it by a Dynabar.

Two ropes through the side holes with an 8 knot. The yellow rope tighter, is the one that works. dynemma inside with anti fricción coverage, the black one is normal rope nothing fancy, looser, for just in case.

I put an antal antifriction ring. The chikken loop goes around the ring (not2 trhough the whole)

It works great for me with reallly really low wear.

In fact my son is asking me for the same set up, but I cannot find Dynabars anymore. Too sad.

I hope it helps, and if anyone has a Dynabar available please let me know !!! (Europe)

Hi all - great to see your comments and I'd appreciate your advice

I've move to a rope slider as I only really use a directional board now and love the feeling

I did use a Caribiner with a low friction bit in it, but found that even with my long arms (I'm 2m tall!) it held the bar too far away from me.

I've moved to an Antal Low Friction Ring which works really well for me and seems to preserve the rope and CL well:
https://www.force4.co.uk/item/Antal/Low ... -Rings/K06

The problem I get is with a tethered launch. I don't use it often but do sometimes and can't quite get my head around how to use it with a slider rope

This morning I did clip in above the swivel system which allows control of the kite and works ok, but I was aware that there would be no ability to release the safety/CL system if things went wrong. I use the tether below and have always been reassured (but never used) by the fact that the safety leash can be connected, and if the kite starts looping etc I could make the beach a safer place by releasing the CL and also not lose my kite and bar/lines!

Any thoughts/hints?

I was wondering about using a caribiner on the rare occasions i need to do a tethered launch, and the low friction ring the rest of the time

@Potato2 , I had an rare accident with the Antal ring like this . My rope slider broke mid air, the flag out line then got stuck between the Antal ring and chicken loop, as it makes a wedge and the line is pulling into the wedge .

Just fyi .

No many attach the CL directly but the rope will wear the PU tube a bit over time. My Mystic bar came with a ring I have been using it and after hundreds of sessions no wear on the CL. There is all kinds of fancy contraptions you could use but the ring works and the rope is cheap to replace.
