Not exactly a rope slider but works better for me all-around
Keeps it close, doesn’t roll up, still pulls from close to the body so no twisting the hips, plenty of free movement on waves, still allows plenty of depower toe side, keeps the CL stable for boosting
Used to use a rope, this is much better for me and works with almost every CL these days

Hey,
I know it is an old thread, but wanted to ask if anybody already has experiences with the following Ion rope-bar and direct attachement to the chicken-loop (wear and tear related)?

Anyone tried a wider diameter tubing over chicken loop plastic without compromising its function. May save wear.
Just a thought.
Low friction ring.....connect CL for me.

What is this? A steel tube with a bulge out in the middle for a stable center position?

Pretty much. There is also a small thin bar against the harness pad that you can’t see opposite the bulge to keep the cl from sliding to far. I can take a picture of it off the pad if that might help visualize it?

Low friction ring.....connect CL for me.
Tube will wear and add friction too. I use an Antal low friction ring on my main harness, but they are quite pricey imo. On my second harness, I tried a stainless thimble between the rope and the chicken loop, and I am happy to report that it works perfectly. Stays put no matter what you do, and costs almost nothing. Pick a size that will match the diameter of the chicken loop tube.

Sounds great!
My experience with rope spreader bar and just the chicken loop is that it works perfect for foiling, but when in the waves the sliding is too slow/delay, likely because of friction, so I am back on the hook when kiting in waves - but with your tip, I will give the rope spreader bar one more go in waves..!

This looks quite promising. Have you tried ejecting? Any issues with the release?

Hey. Just saw your post. I've used this webbing slider for over a year. Mostly foiling. Over 200? sessions? Only a small bit of wear on the webbing where it rubs against the plastic of the spreader itself. My CL has a the small stainless steel "tube" so it is rubbing against the webbing. Nice, smooth system.
