I have the new 2021 9m Rebel. The red Rebel underneath is a 2018 10m Rebel. The shape looks quite different. The new rebel has 6 blue things from the tip to the first strut. The 2018 has 5 of them. The 2021 tip lookt a bit more square. The 2021 Rebel has got 4 battens.

Now I only have to wait till some good + knots. :D

Had my first session with the 9m Rebel in 30-35 knots of wind. Compared to the 2018 Rebel it is much quicker and also a pretty good kite to loop. The kiteloops don't generate as much pull as a FX or GTS. But the kite does realiabe catch you after the loop.

Jumping performance and hangtime feels pretty much the same. The kite is also lighter. Around 3kg for a 9m. Not bad for a 5 strut kite.

Nice Kemperman thanx, any more compared to the 2018 Rebel? You meen quicker loops or beter catch? Looking for the differences from my 2019 Rebel to the new one, the 2020 had almost no changes so I skipped that one...

The loops are quicker and the catch is also improved. The 2018 was a bit difficult in gusty wind with looping. It had more the tendency to backstall or had a short delay before it would rise up. Maybe the new arc and lighter weight helpt with the loop-ability?

@Kemperman great info, thx!

Have you also looped the Dice/Evo? I wonder how they compare to the Rebel now in that discipline. I have only started looping this year with my Rebel 9 2020 and I got the feeling that it doesn´t always catch. I wonder if it would be worth to get the 2021 or even the new Evo SLS instead.

At least according to their marketing team, the new EVO SLS should become the most capable loop machine at Duotone: https://www.mackiteboarding.com/2021-du ... ding-kite/

I had the same problem with the 2019 as well. It often stalled on the way up. From watching the videos of guys looping them, the 2020 looks a bit less stally.

I have not flown the dice or evo. But the dice would be comparable with the FX and GTS. I still think the FX is better for looping than the Rebel. It's easier to loop it earlier and kiteloop with shorter lines. But for a bow kite, the rebel loops really good. I just loop the kite a bit later and have no problem to get them aboven me for a downloop.

The 2020 Evo was a loop machine, so really keen to see how the 2021 SLS works out.
