Hello KF! I just noticed that the UFO is at 1.1 generation, looks like they went from D1 to D2 fabric so they are renaming, I don't think they changed profile or bridles at all.
Does anyone know when the next generation or 1.2 launches for the UFO? What about the Ghost Single strut? That kite also looks like it's in first-generation still and should be getting updated at some point -I'm thinking. Do you think they will release a new UFO or Ghost this spring - or maybe summer or even next fall? I'm considering building a foil quiver but since the season is so late and snow is around the corner may be best to wait for second-gen in the spring if they do update it then. Who has got the scoop? please correct any of my assumptions if I made any errors.

You will get no input. Slingshot is very good at keeping secrets.
UFOs are too good to be missed - get a quiver

Well the ghost came out at the end of 2019 so there might be a new version soon.

Hi - I tried the UFO. Thinking about getting a 7. If I am worried about self landing it - seemed impossible - should I go with a 1 srtut kite instead?

i personally think self landing is the easy part, self launching in gusty shifty conditions using a tether is not working so good for me. might have to try the "let it drag a bit on the beach and flip over" method. hate doing that to my nice kites though,, local beaches are not friendly
i love my ufo's 5,7,9 for me. 7 my fav so far.

Walk up the lines or land it on its back with one front line.
Or tether.

To do the drag you also need a weight on the leading edge to keep it from getting blown over. I usually use my board. Unfortunately it’s another point of abrasion.

I have only drift launched this kites and have only had an inverted line once which I fixed once it was nose down on the water. When drift launching they tend to face forward so you have to grab a center line and try to get them to turn around. Yesterday I was over powered and my 7m hot launched off a wave while I was trying to turn it. It ended up just fine. At this point I won't foil with any other kite (other kites are Liquid Force Envys and OR Flites).

How do D1 and D2 fabrics compare?
