I think I could fly the ufo v2 without trim. I might trim out the 6m but the 5 and 4 especially have really good range
I did change to liros dc301 lines front and rear and that makes a decided difference from stock duotone lines
I’m also reluctant to give up the modern quick releases.
I also like the self unwinding feature as I loop a lot
What is Fred Hope running for lines?

I took off my swivel to force myself to loop both ways the same amount because I figure it’s best to loop the kite the same amount to either side so it doesn’t get stretched asymmetrically over time.

I do the same but that also becomes a crutch after awhile so I do both now and make it a point to loop front back and both directions and I spin the bar sometimes.

Fred's lines are pretty similar to what I'm running, but I think his center lines are a touch heavier than mine. He jumps where as I don't; so I'm happy with the race lines for both front and back.
It's pretty easy to just grab the Sentry QR to unspin the centers. I don't bother if I'm looping back & forth, but if I just do one then a reach I just un-spin it.
Even with the 11m, I haven't missed the trim. (I only have a session or two on the 11m with this bar...) That said, If I'm way off on kite size I head in and change kites. Obviously you can pump up a UFO in moments, so I'm not on the beach long.

Has anyone flown the 5m V1 and the V2? I have the 4m n 6m V2 and I love them. But, the 5m V1 just seems different. Thinking of switching out the 5m but not sure it is worth it. LMK if u think the differences are worth it.

The 5m V2 is definitely better. It's a bit faster and flies a bit further forward in the window, plus it flies easier one handed. I'm goin to be in LB Jan 19 to Feb 5 if you want to swap 5m for a session. The bigger sizes V2 make more of a difference, but the 5m and the 3m are still better than the V1.1. With the 3m, the main difference I notice is that the kite is fast, but less twitchy.

I guess it would depend on how much you use your 5m.
If you are riggin the 5m a lot get the V2
I could see using the 6m and going to the 4m and skipping the 5m
And I still think the v1 3m is fine but maybe I’ll run into nak someday and he can lend me his 3m v2
.

The 4m absolutely stretches to the 6m, but I find the 5m a lot more fun than the 6m. If it's dropping down to 15 or so, I'll rig the 6m, or if I'm afraid the wind is going to drop. Like you said, it depends on you're local wind, but I'd rather skip the 6m than the 5m, even if it meant losing some sessions.

Thx Nak! It's been windy (gusty) almost everyday here in Dec. I've flown the 5 around 80% of those days. My wife is usually on the 4 so I don't get to use it when maybe I should be on the 4. What I find is that the 5 just doesn't handle well overpowered. Unlike the 6 which I find has a large range and handles well. Maybe I'll try Purdyd's advice and go out way overpowered on the 6 and give it a try. Somedays I just go out on the 5SST which works OK but I miss the characteristics of the UFO that I really like.

That is a different situation.
If you are using the 5m 80% of the time and can’t use the 4m, get the 5m v2
