So feels like a trip to the dentist instead of a trip to the beach?

Yup....my Crazyfly likes to whistle.
But why tho?

We know for the foils why, and I think it is not a fin.

It is the angle on which it starts whistling. Not the speed, it does that on low speed as well.

Will try to record a vid...

Don't now why, it's probably some sort of oscillation that requires certain conditions. Think it's only been noticed since the nanoskin glide.

Did you swap fins around yet? If its not the fins then how strange is that? Maybe rail shape and the ting ting carbon vibrate.

I did a half-assed fin box replacement on a surfboard once and could feel vibrations on the fin on larger waves. Didn't hear a sound but there are a number of posts on swaylocks where people do https://www.swaylocks.com/forums/fin-hum

I guess try different fins or no fins.

You can also try to put a small piece of rubber between fin base and board. It should not weaken the fin too much but will perhaps change the frequency enough to make it "not-whistle"

I have a 2014 raptor LTD model 132cm, no problems.

But my friends raptor carbon Ltd 140 whistles ! It didn’t felt as a problem but interestingly weird hahah had to try to believe
It has the nano glide skin and is a newer model by the way

If it is the nano glide skin, you could try waxing the bottom of the board to fill in the micro channels to see if it helps. You may want to first contact Crazyfly to see what they say.

The newer ones with the ribbed plastic fins tend to whistle, switch to old style without the rib or G10 fins..

The 2021 boards have the carbon fins, just got my 2021 neon ltd, haven't had a chance to try it yet due to wales being in a 2wk lock down..
