Slingshot supernatural mutant - looks a lot like my build

Postby plummet » Sun Oct 25, 2020 6:33 am

I wonder if slingshot have been trolling kiting forum for board ideals?

Either way, I say cool to see mutants making a come back.

If any, I would see some similarities to some models of the LF Mutant line..not speaking of rocker, flex, fin positioning, bottom contours, materials..

there is no doubt brands troll this place for ideas/ development

wave kite development thread some years ago, and aluminium foil development (LF)

Also my stand up efoil idea - still the worlds first ever dated published artwork - right here, of a stand up only efoil. Corny as it sounds, I dreamt the idea.

Or you might have done...

Plummet I’d buy one of those if you fancy making another. Very happy with my Nomad Wave but always up for some retail therapy...!!

Great to see a mutant in production & having seen the pre-production version Sam was using it does look v nice, just a pity this doesn’t have fin boxes and bigger fins

I tried all sorts of fin combos including monster fins and came to the conclusion that 55-60mm quad fins give the best grib/slide combo. You can get as much grip as you want on a big lumpy wave face. But you then can still slide em out during a transition if you want.

I'm interested in a mutant like the slingshot, airush, cab SS, or LF Spacecraft. I was wondering how you set your straps up? With wind from the left, and a regular stance for example: do you set it up so you're left foot (and nose) forward? But then if you want to 'ride' frontside coming back in, you have your tail forward?
On the other hand if you set it up tail forward going out with your left foot forward, then you don't have the nose to boost through the waves.
This is probably the trade off of these kind of boards, but I'm curious how you strap up your mutants :?:
