Another vote for the mystic jacket, definitely helps to keep the wind chill down...

I have one from Platinum Sun https://www.platinumsun.com/product-cat ... e-jackets/ it's really nice and a Chinese one from Amazon it's ok the brand is Lemorecn https://www.lemorecn.com/collections/we ... tsuit-Tops kid of basic but the quality is alright.

They both work good over a 5/4 makes a huge difference. If the temperature is dropping it's easier to ad a jacket then to change into the drysuit or another wetsuit.

I’ve used this for years - it is very thin, windproof and durable.

Def pricey but it will last years and years. Made for laser and skiff sailing in winter and cold water-where you get really wet and are out in stiff breeze
... sounds familiar

I wear a 2mm neoprene vest under my 5/4 steamer. I wear an impact vest on top ... & on top of everything I wear a 2mm Ion neoprene loose jacket. The loose jacket makes a surprising amount of difference, presumably because it acts as windbreak & provides a layer of insulating air outside the wetsuit. I find it's particularly effective when foiling or when standing on the beach after/between a session.

I have tried the 'baggy' wind breaker but I find they collect water after a few falls

My favourite is the NP Combat Skin Top but like Longwhitecloud I also wear a neoprene vest under my wetsuit. If I am still cold then I switch over to my OR Soul Drysuit which always keeps me warm and dry.

The sharkskins are wierd, dont think they are neoprene - i think a layer of lycra then stretchy Gore-tex type material and then a layer of super fluffy something on the inside.

My favourite is the NP Combat Skin Top ....
+1

The NeilPryde Combat Armor Skin Top 0.3mm works amazingly well when it comes to preventing wind chill. Also, you don't notice it at all if you ever have to swim in.

I used to have a loose fitting jacket that was fine until you were in the water: Hard to explain, but when the water presses the jacket against the body it restricts movement a little bit since the material is not that stretchy.
Not fun if you're swimming in for 20 minutes.

Cheap kayaking top does it for me.
Eg https://www.lomo.co.uk/acatalog/spraytop-2.html#SID=10

Also adds a bit of color foot search and rescue :o
The best thing you can get for your money!!!
The other ones are far too expensive!!!
