Why do Wetsuit Makers Hate Hands & Feet?

Postby McLovin » Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:38 am

So you can BUY a full suit, shorty, hooded, 3/4 even suits specially designed for kids, woman etc. etc. etc.

When you BUY gloves or booties you have some options but NOT the right ones. Would you BUY a hood that didn't have a hole for your face?

I have 3/2 suits 5/3 etc. where are MY 5/3 and 3/2 booties and gloves. Yes I love the warmth of a well made neoprene exterior for my hands and feet but for my palms and feet I kinda want to feel what I'm holding or riding. Has anyone found a set of gloves with reduced palms NOT no palms, or same for feet? Trying to kite in 5mm booties is NO BUENO.

Help me out...

Thx.

Mc

There are also ION 4/3 Lobster Mittens.

I think you should learn to use google and discover the world of infinite variations of boots and gloves, mate.

For gloves I have Prolimit Longfinger HS Utility. Despite not being completely neoprene and instantly getting wet when you dip them in water, they are pretty warm and comfortable. The lowest I went with them was yesterday with 8 degrees of celsius outside. Nimble enough to handle with the lines and knots.

For booties 5mm Ion Plasma, really warm, really comfy.

Best Gloves with curved fingers https://www.freeridershop.de/xcel-neopr ... 3MEALw_wcB

Best Boots with barefoot feeling https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anz ... nt=app_ios
How think is the neoprene on the palms of these Xcel gloves. All gloves I've ever tried have given be arm pump within 10mins, so have spend the last 3 years kiting all winter gloveless. It isn't too bad, but wouldn't mind finding some for closest days.

I used to get that with gloves, but since I have ION Claw gloves (pre bent) I have not had that problem.

Try 'xcel anti glove' for dexterity. Super thin and help keep the wind the chill off, but not much more than that. Lots of steps up from there (and a step the other direction is to use dishgloves, which work surprisingly well for $5).
