Unfortunately Liam got injured during the competition in Brazil:
All of us at the GKA wish Liam a speedy recovery, he is currently getting his knee injury evaluated in Fortaleza and we hope he will be able to return to the competition.
I just met him in Cumbuco and doesn’t sound too bad...still needs to decide if he wants to operate his knee or not.
Ligaments and meniscus is injured, what exactly it is we should here soon.

With big luck he might be still possible to ride KOTA.

Let’s keep fingers crossed for a speedy recovery and to see him back on the water soon.

If you see how they land with full speed and a low kite, no wonder.

But, they choose this discipline. IMO not worth the risk for that little money. If they had minimum 1 million in their account after their carrier, it might be worth it.
But for that little money, no.

Knee or shoulder...so far it hit all world champs of Freestyle/wakestyle.

ACLs and Rotator cuffs.... soooo many of them.

Liam rides with a great style IMO

How much is an ACL/ Meniscus at a Brazilian Hospital?

Hey guys, so here is a little update on my injury. First of all I won’t be able to continue competing here in Brazil as I can’t even walk. After getting results from the MRI I have damage in my lateral Meniscus, a partially broken Anterolateral Ligament and bruising on my Tibial Plateau. Luckily I have some extremely talented knee specialists and Surgeons currently figuring out what is the best way to move forward. I still don’t know if I’ll have to operate or not.... Anyway I am extremely positive and motivated to do everything possible to get back on the water ASAP. Everything is in the mind, I have been through numerous injuries and I always come back stronger. Thanks everyone who helped me on the beach and get to the hospital. Thanks to all of the doctors that are currently helping me and thanks to all of you guys for sending me nice messages, I feel the love 🥰 I’ll be back sooner than you know it

he told me, if he gets an operation he will flight straight to Munich, Germany and do it there with a specialist.

Bummer, there aren't too many other riders at the moment with that much jumping height and style combined. Fingers crossed he gets better soon and recovers quickly without any long-term consequences.

What I think he is going to take away from this, is not to go into unnecessary risk when he doesn't have to - Pretty sure he injured himself going full on on his last attempt when he already knew he won the heat?
