Massive shortage of suits available right now. I guess Covid really put a dent in the supply chain this year. I’m size MT and can’t find a 5/4 anywhere that’s not outrageously overpriced.

The mystic is warm, but wont last. The durability sucks and imho the price/quality isnt in their favor. Before the end of the first season their got holes in it, seams ripped of and the zipper got stuck.
I changed to the manera magma 543 and really happy with that one. In my second winterseason with that one and still as New.
And it is warm, which is nice as watertemp goes into the 5/6 degrees Celsius and an airtemp that is about the same.
As i know, Mystic did a lot of changes last year and quality increased drasticaly. Another thing - correct me if im wrong here guys, but Mystic Vollt is only one from this list, that is made from Yamamoto neoprene. This neoprene is highier quality, then those made from Sheico, Taiwan neoprene.

I have a 6/4 psycho tech and to be honest I hardly use it as it's too warm. My 5/4 does the job for 90% of my winter kiting in the UK.
But if you want really warm can recommend it for sure.

My local is 2C to 5C now (35f to 41f). 5/4/3 2011 closeout NPX is fine for me, but may not be for you.
Always consider:
1. Are you a person who can handle the cold better than others? If so that could be an additional 15 to 30 seconds you can survive cold water immersion longer than the average person. But how much further can you swim in your extra 30 seconds?
2. After 1 season virtually all suits lose significant integrity and leak a bit. This means that the suit will feel just as warm out of the water, but will not keep you warm while swimming.
3. Location, how far you choose to go out, and wind direction dictates if you need 15 minutes of survivability, or 15 hours. But if you are in a situation where you could wind up being in the water for more than 1 to 2 hours, you probably know that if more than 1 or 2 things go wrong, you are dead anyway.

I have a feral and it's great. But don't buy unless wetsuit sizes work for you. I'm a perfect L but if I weren't the initial break in period would have strangled me to death.

Too warm it's a weird concept during winter, but good to hear!!!
It's exactly what I'm searching for cause by my experience the heat you can feel is never enough when it's windy and the temp is less than 10 °C.
The only O'neill I've ever own it's a 3/2 Psycho RG8 from 2012: it's like to kite without the wetsuit for his flexibility, but also for the protection from cold, it's the colder 3/2 I've ever used, when it's windy and the suit is wet it's a pain;
You can get cold also if the temp is not
So my idea about O'neill products is something with the better flexibility on the market but not at top end in terms of warm (maybe these wetsuit are really warm if used in no wind conditions like for surfing).
But then again, it's not possible to compare a 3/2 with a 6/4, and reading around seems that my experience it's not correct.
The problem with wetsuit is that it's difficult to sell and old one like you can do with a board or a kite if you don't like it...

Try SRFACE.com. I sent a MT back 2 months ago and am happily using a ST now.

Very interesting topic about neoprene, I'd like to do a search about what major brands uses.
