Xcel drylock booties. They are pricey but damn they keep your feet warm. I have the 5mm and just got a pair of the 3mm. They are hard to get off because the seal is so good on them but they have kept my feet warm kiting in the 30's.
+1
Got the 5mm. Right now the water close to shore is freezed up and I can still kite with those booties.
I'm using baby powder to put them on...so much easier!

Another tip, I pour really hot water into my mitts and booties to get them extra hot before putting them on...harder to put on though (no baby powder...).

yeah, the warm water preheat is an absolute game changer, especially on the fingers. You start warm. Makes a HUGE difference.

I use billabong furnace ultra 7 mm down to freezing temps. They fit better than dryloc, are very comfortable and do not feel bulky. The ankle pulls are holding up after a couple seasons.

Get an Ocean Rodeo Ignite drysuit with built-in socks. Wear snowboard socks underneath. I use the Burton mid-weight socks. Then put 5mm booties over the dry-suit socks. Toasty feet even in February. I use diving booties, but there are several 5mm booties on the market. I like the SEAC HD 5mm Boots w/ Side Zipper because it makes getting them on and off easy with the zipper, and the Velcro keeps the zipper from unzipping while riding. When putting the booties on, put talc or baby powder inside the booties, and they'll slide right on - also works for the wrist seals.

I bought these for a one off cold weather scuba trip, not wanting to spend much money.

Have ended up being my cold weather kite booties, easy entry with side zip in 3mm and nice soles for rocky shore.

They have some more serious boots on the website.

Manera's new Magma 5mm boots and Magma 2.5mm gloves should definitely be on your list of items to check out. :thumb:

Mystic is claiming this is their warmest boot. Looks really nice!

Mystic, Ride Engine, Prolimit, Ion, Brunotti, and several others make really nice 2-3mm curved finger gloves like the Manera Magma glove.

Boots and gloves = try before you buy! :thumb:

what is the best bootie for very rocky conditions?
How sharpe are the rocks? Ion has their Ballistic 6/5mm boot with an Aramid layer for rock/reef protection.

+1 a little OT but if you really want to be dry and warm this is a premium option - or Soul or Heat as long as they have the integrated socks.

On my 5mm which I have been using for 4 or 5 years now yeah the glue has come off a little bit but the pull loop is still there and works. I actually just bought the 3mm because they are hard to get off and the 3mm should be a little stretchier. The 5mm are super warm and since I got them my feet don't get cold. However they are not easy to pry off your foot after your done. They seal up so good that they suction on to your foot and you have to break that to get them off. I can see if you use the pull loop to pull them off how they would break.
