My family is doing a little getaway from Dec. 26-Jan. 2 in Sandbridge, VA and I'm debating bringing my kites and board. I'm thinking I may just bring my mountain board and ride on the beach and limit myself to one kite (9m probably), but, if the conditions are right, I could probably convince myself to bring my 15m, board and wetsuit gear.
Any input? Anyone know of any good spots near there? I believe there are some access issues on the sound side if anyone has any contacts with locals, that would be great.
Thanks!
Brian

Looks like the winds will mostly be out of the northwest for most of our time there...and pretty strong. Maybe I'll just do the mountainboard and a 7m or 9m...unless there are good spots on the bay side that have good access...

First Landing State Park is the spot for NW or NE, there is a bay-side beach with parking and a ranger station, that's the spot many of us go. NE and SE winds are also rideable on the oceanfront from 45th street to 88th if waves and beach break are more your thing. Sandbridge beach on the ocean side will work in NE through SE, but for NW you'll want to come up to First Landing.
For SW we go to Hampton-thereabouts or over to Cape Charles on the eastern shore.
