What are your (kiteboarding) goals for 2021?

Postby lindseym » Thu Dec 31, 2020 2:49 am

I'll go first...
1) to finally get a Jesus walk (after 2 years of trying lol)
2) to break my 34ft boost record
3) to get a truly inverted board off...what I thought was inverted was not, after looking at the pics
4) to be as great of a podcaster as Colin Colin Caroll

Skill related:
* get good enough at foiling that I can stay dry if I want to by learning foot switches and upwind tacks (hopefully just a couple of months)
* switch from flat water to spots with waves on the foil after above

Other goals:
* Spend less than 2020 on gear  Should not be hard though. Got me a carbon foil, aluula kite and 4 other kites this year. :o
* Spend more on travel. This year was a no-travel abroad year. Really hoping to go out to some spots after getting vaccinated.
(Although I arguably spend lots on travel by getting a new car this year which is pretty much just used for kitesurfing, but lets not think to long about that )

Wish i could do 50 of them... :(

For me it will be a nice long darkslide.
I'm making strange progress, I learned some pretty nice tricks this year (backroll) kiteloops and onefooters but still no F**king frontroll..

Just keep pushing...and rethink gear...you know my philosophy. And currently 4200 tricks are the proof...

Some things just do not compute in the brain and take way longer then they should to learn.
e.g. darkslides on the goofy direction. I sorta can make them work if I do enough of them in a single session but my brain REALLY does not like them.
