I use Eezycut Trilobite divers knives with harness mount and which have replaceable blades. They come in many different colours - black is not a good choice in case visibility is difficult or someone else has to grab the knife and cut you free.

liking that double sidedness,,, winner so far, imo.

This should convince you.....great knives, I wear one on each side of my harness..

Definitely a good idea. However, I'm still unclear on how often people use their line knives to save themselves in a kite accident. I've never done so and I've never heard of anyone doing so. I'm just trying to gather data, not saying it doesn't happen. I know that "all it takes is once" to make it worthwhile!

The Dakine will cut even when corroded with white powder from the fact that the blade is aluminum, those stainless steel/titanium if corroded /rusty will loose their cutting edge.

I went with the dakine that comes with my harness at the spreader bar and and another Dakine safety knife zip tied to my impact vest near my shoulder.

Will 8-9mm PU covered depowerlines also fit in the "hole"?
10mm bungee can enter as it can be pressed but for PU the enterance should be large enough.

These knives all look good when new. The big question is how they perform after 4 years of saltwater and sitting in the harness pocket without any care or attention. I recall the early ones were all totally toast. My Dakine cut well the last time I checked - which was probably 4 years into usage.

Anyone tested a 4yo Ezycut knife?

I doubt these companies to a correct electrochemical lifetime testing. User experience and feedback is needed. G

Well it’s one of the things you hopefully never have to use. I used mine once in 20 years. Not even me but someone else who managed to stuck his lines in the reef and had to cut loose.
