But I still dont know if a 8-9mm PU covered depowercord can be cut with the one shown here. For sure not with the standard one.
The Eezycut Trilobite will cut 9mm. If you want to cut 10mm+ just file down the entry shoulders a few mm.

Just ordered a full batch of the new shape (picture above is older shape). Next to the standard steel (316) blades I also ordered a batch with ceramic blade. The ceramic blade wont rust over time but comes 2 times as expensive as the SS316 steel ones so lets see how many choose quality over quantity. I always kite on the North sea and flush my harness with fresh water after each session. So far corrosion has not really been an issue on my SS316 knives but I replace my harnesses every 2 seasons so maybe thats too short for this location.

A few years back, I thought a TI divers knife, one side straight, the other side serrated in a decent sheath with lanyards would be a good idea... the upside was that it would slice through anything, including my leg when it popped out of the sheath! DOH.

Any knife is likely to do more harm than good - I did have a larger Paragliders hook knife, but this rusted first time out as although super sharp, the stainless wasn't marine grade.

PS - a guy at our beach was death looping, someone went out to rescue him, & I understand got to him when the kite splashed down, but he didn't have a knife with him & neither did the other guy - the looping resumed and he sadly died. "Most" people who are aware what happened now take knives.

I didn't know there is a new shape, would you please post a link showing it?

They took off the square edges but beside this I think all is the same.
Ceramic version is almost double the price so curious how many will order the steel and how many the ceramic version.
I'll have them on stock in about a month.
I mainly hope they will also work on PU depowercords (as your meaurements suggest) as that would be an additional improvement over the standard one.

Thanks. Looks like exactly the same blade with identical functionality but with a small amount of carrier removed.

Please provide some context.

How would you know? Imho we can only speculate about death since no one died and come back.

For example, this was the guy with the knife on 1500km advenure:

We know he survived. Someonw else who knows...
