How long is your drive to the Kiting Spot, how long is your Session, how exhausted are you after the session

Deal all,
Please no Diskussion about enviroment, covid, travel costs, traveling alone or together with Friends (which I do).

I just would like to know, as I have no idea what is normal.

1: How long is your drive to the kite Session (one way)?
2: how long is your kiting Session?
3: How exhausted are you after the Session?

For my regular kiting Spot.
1. 2,5 Hours driving one way
2. Minimum 4h, in most cases 5–6 hours . As I can not go with the Twintip for 5h, I change between, directional (Wave) and twintip.
3. completely exhausted. Even the next day.

For a near kite Spot (not very often)
1. 70minutes
2. 2 Hours.
3. not very exhausted

Thank you.
Stay healthy!

1. 4 min driving one way (I can see the spot and the kites from my house)
2. About 1.5/2 hours
3. Nothing exhausted

Driving 800 feet to beach..one minute 90% of the time
There are 2 more spots to go kite ..5% each
Drive 15 minutes
One when waves too big and wind too onshore
One when wind totally offshore or too much side-off

Ride 1.5hr on average

Not tired at all
Energized....muscles stay strong...my only exercise
Kite on average 15 days month year round

Used to be 15 min, then dredging the lake allowed aquatic plants to ruin our spot. Now we have 40 min drive.

Session is typically 1.5hrs to 4hrs, depending on wind changes.

Exhaustion is not complete until the rare day the wind stays up for 5hrs.

1. 10-15 minutes drive
2. 1:15 session on average. Most are 1 hour.
3. Not at all.

... and 230 days/300 hours a year.

Today I walked about 100 meters from where I was working to where I had to park my car, because there was no space on he job site.

Then I drove my car another 150 meters or so across the parking lot, to get a little closer to the beach.

After working all day I didn’t feel like lugging my gear any farther than necessary. 😜

I probably could have rode for a few hours, but I only rode for a little over an hour before the wind got too light for the gear I rigged up.

I was then slightly chilled and too lazy to rig up something else.

10min bike ride or 5min drive. Definitely bike on the weekends because parking at Belmont gets hard.

1.5 hrs

Not exhausted at all.

Interesting topic, because it reveals how very different people's kiting circumstances are & how it colours their opinions on kiting.

I have two main spots, depending on wind direction. One is 5 mins drive away, the other is 40 mins drive away. Sessions are usually 2 hours to 3 hours. Pretty tired ... but less so if I am fit in from regular sessions. I would guess 50 - 60 sessions a year plus 4 or 5 weeks dedicated kite trip which might add another 25 sessions a year. This last year foiling has made it more like 75 - 80 sessions a year plus the kite trip.

1) my most common spots are about an hour

2) I ride ~2 hours sometimes 3, if the wind is epic then more

3) anywhere from perfectly rested to barely able to walk depending on my conditioning and how many sessions I’ve done in recent days. On bigger days with jumping, my abs are sore for 3+ days

I get from 30-50 days a year, was pretty psyched to get 52 in 2020.

For Water:
Travel 23 min, 1 hour each way, depending on the spot
Ride for 1 to 4 hours
Tired after sesh but not into next day.
For Snow:
Travel 1 hr 15 min or 2 hr depending on the spot
Ride for at least 2 hours unless wind is too punchy
Tired into next day early season, getting used to the altitude, not at all mid way through season on
