I used to fly best gp's and currently fly eleveight fs, it's got a similar feel as a c kite in how stable and direct it is but it has 4 line simplicity, jumps bigger and more hangtime, still has great slack as well. For wave kiting it's not ideal as it has quite some power in the turns but in lower wind its possible to use them.
I also tried the eleveight rs and didn't like them very much, it just doesn't have that direct c kite feel, it's more of an allrounder. The dice, fx, fs and rpm are all great options with direct feel and a bit more allround. I would test first before ordering any kite.

Dude you got to demo. Everyone has their favorite kites but if you are used to C kites, then maybe Enduro. I like it a lot, but it doesn't give you as much slack on a handle pass as an RPM. RPM is the best if you are doing handle passes. One of my favorite kites is the Pivot but it doesn't pull hard on a turn like a Vegas does so you might not like it. Just gotta go out and demo some new kites. You'll figure it out eventually but there's no way to avoid it you got to launch and ask to borrow kites from everyone you know until you find one you like. Good luck!

Something like Ozone Enduro perhaps*? Not amazing at any one thing, more a jack of all trades but master of none.
good description and why I like my enduro. Definitely doesn't jump as high as a pivot or orbit, doesn't generate slack like an RPM, doesn't drift like a surf kite. But it has a good direct feel. 2020 has sucked for demo-ing new kites, hope 2021 is better, there's a lot of new kites I want to try.

Came from Best GP for similar reasons. Now have eleveight RS. Losing that direct feel cannot be avoided but my new kites are so much better. Dumping the power with the bar nstead of the boafd ege takes away loads of rding strain.
Out local instructor sold his dice in favour of the school evo's. Another really good kite that may suit you and should be on the demo list.

Go with Dice. Will have a similar feel as Vegas, but with much more versatility. Evo, Rebel wont have the same "vegas'y taste".

Try Blade Trigger. Snappy, fast, great lift, but also amazing drifter in waves.

Yes Evo is in the same category, but he clearly wants allrounder with Vegas feel, so Dice/Pulse would be best for him.
