Either will work, the kite specific has the vertical fin so tracks straight, maybe not as playful. I actually reduced the size of the vertical fin, made for a nicer ride with the medium surf front wing. The big turned down tips of the medium surf provide a lot of stability so you don’t really need the rear fin.
A word of caution, the side wings of the kite stab aren’t attached well, I have seen most crack. The fin is solid carbon, with the sides just butt mounted. Look for cracks running along the base of the fin.
The new fuselage provides a much stronger solution to stab mounting, really worth the upgrade.
