Cape Hatteras Rentals, Spring 2021

For those of us in Eastern Canada a trip south at the end of our winter has become something of an annual pilgrimage. For over the last 10 years a group of friends has rented a house in Cape Hatteras in early May to play in the wind and waves. Last year at the start of the pandemic the Canada US border was closed to vehicles for vacationers and after much wrangling we were able to defer our reservation to 2021. A year later and not much has changed, it's unlikely to do so before the fall I fear, the bottom line is we again cannot go ;(
We are hoping the Letting agent will be able to relet our reservation otherwise we'll be out of pocket. We have a great sound side location in Rodanthe for 2 weeks, 8-21 May 2021), It's 6 bed, 4 1/2 baths, Pool (& Pool table) Hot Tub, and private sound access!) We have reserved this same house for the last 5 years at this time as its' placement is so convenient. I'm writing this in the hope that some US based Kiters might be looking for somewhere to stay at this time. Drop me a message please and we can give you the full info and contacts to assume the lease...... Thanks (eh!)

Sorry, we are all from Canada our borders are effectively closed so none of us can go. It’s the second year for us this has happened due covid, it’s a shame as a spring trip to Hatteras has become a tradition over the last decade since we began kiting.
The house is really conveniently located and a great spot, I think (hope), it will rent easily.

I understand, I am canadien but I live in Ecuador, I would be able to be there but I need ppl from this forum to help me rent the place, anybody !!!!

I've been there maybe 18 of the last 20 years end of April/start of May. It looks like almost a certainty I can't go again this Spring. Being from Toronto, it almost doesn't feel like spring without my trip to Hatteras.

I think it's total BS how the Real Estate companies are refunding these rentals.

Worthy of mention is that Air BnB refunded rentals immediately. The agents have been something else... last year after they were pushed they allowed us to roll the 2020 reservation to 2021. So now this year the 2021 rates have increased and no longer can we roll forward again to 2022.
We have now to pay 2021 in advance in full before they will let us cancel (fees for that are at least waived) and if they can relet the property will then refund us.
