My condolences to friends and family.

Currently a winter storm passes thru Europe, let this be a warning for everyone else.

No one has 100% control.

RIP

RIP - thoughts & prayers to family and friends.

As noted, take extra care & if you do go out, the wind chill will be considerable.

I am very sorry for his loss. Strength to family and friends at this terrible time.

Does anyone have an estimate of the wind and temperature range around the time of the accident?

'Kitesurfer' dies

Could be a windsurfer, kayaker or surfer too. My condolences to friends and family but even the reporter put "kitesurfer" in quotes.

He was a kitesurfer - a good buddy of one of the guys from my local spot - I didn't know him though. RIP

He was indeed a kitesurfer.

Not far from where I live / kitesurf. It will be interesting to find out what happened (police are supposedly reviewing GoPro footage), but I can tell you that it was seriously cold on that day. A very experienced kitesurfer, so the wind should not have been an issue but it would have been around -10C with the windchill. I can't see how that isn't likely to be a contributory factor?

I hope it is OK to share, but you can see him enjoying himself at
