Naish Triad - question

Hello,

as I am a newbee who finished his lessons I bought myself a set to start on my own.
yesterday I mounted the kite in my garden to avoid surprises that first day on the beach.
everything went well but I noticed one thing I can't figure out and I really want to be sure.
the attach of the power lines is with a knot and how I learned it.
the steering lines are different, the Kite part has the loop but the bar steering lines have a "little knot" which doesn't seem to be as powerfull to attach as the powerlines knot?
is this the knot I have to use or doe I need to place the extensions between?
that seems strange to me...
here is the situation

Make your larkshead loop on the kite and attach to the knot on the lines.
The extensions in the bag are for compensating for line shrink over time.

se despite the "little loop" under the knot it is the right way to connect my steering lines...?

The little loop on the end of the lineset is to allow the possibility to use your bar with another manufacturers kites. Some have them one way around and some the other.

The clue is the fact there isn't a knot on the kite attachment line. The black tab is there to help undo your lines at the end of a session and only works if its on the larkshead side.

I had a quick look at the Naish user manual online and I can see why you might be confused. Its not the clearest

indeed the manual isnt so clear and as a beginner it might confuse you, for sure it will work out fine.
the first day I'll take it out I will defenitly be carefull and pay attention on my set up!

If you have a naish bar and kite you do not need the extenders. Maybe when you have abused the gear for some years if the lines have stretched. The extras are mostly for someone who buys a kite from a different brand.

Like mentioned make a larkshead on the steering line and pull the steering line through. Make sure you color match the attachments.

I'm a bit surprised you were not taught this in your class.

thank you for your answer and your clear design.
that is indeed how i learned it in my lessons.
my only concern is that the situation on my new gear is "different"
the "knot" on the steering lines doesnt look like "the knot" I am used to know, although on the power lines it is a "clear knot"
the knot is with a loop so to me it seemes less "secure" to pull it through the larkshead on the kite

^^ I have used knots within loops in similar diameters for many years without problem, but do make sure you have set the larks head properly by pulling it tight. This system has been around for years, but if you lack confidence in it make up a rig and test it.

WB that is exactly how it is. I get your worries, but I have used Naish kites for a loooong time and I have never had an issue where the knot was too small. You should be fine. Just make sure you tighten the larkshead decently.
