Pump Hose Replacement

Postby ralu81 » Mon Feb 22, 2021 10:40 pm

Does someone have a recommendation for a hose replacement? I have 5 pumps one of which is a WMFG and all of the others have the standard connection (twist locking). I'm abandoning the WMFG pump since the hose's are complete garbage and cant seem to make it through a full season. I looked on Amazon and couldn't find a simple replacement for a standard cheap hose. I found one boating website that sells them, but that was about it. The hose on the boating site was 8$ I wouldn't be surprised if the shipping costs more then the order. Thanks for any insight.

Simply separate the adapters from both ends of the broken hose then replace the hose with anything which is a good interference fit. Garden hose, anything. Use zip ties to stop the adapters moving.

I modified my WFMG to accept a regular black plastic hose from the small pumps that was like 5 years ago it's still going strong.

Good idea, I use electric tape for now but I know it will not last.

I'm jealous, I still haven't worn out a hose

I used heat shrink and its still working but I have my doubts it'll last much longer. Which is why I was looking for a more permanent solution. Also, I don't want to use the WMFG hose in cold temps.

Auto heater hose works great. And no clamps needed. Parts place will cut to desired length. :thumb:

If you are like me and stuff the hose inside the kite bag, then be sure to wrap over the zip tie with hockey tape or bike tape or something - had it wear a hole in the canopy from a sharp edge
