Bus to Barra Grande for two months, then one month In Prea and Paracuru and others. fly out Nov. 19......
my man knows the DR..
the above method will require "working" spanish
more helpfull knowledge..
is best to have internet before you arrive.. there is a claro kiosk in the airport mall in santo domingo.. but iirc, not in santiago (or POP airport)
there IS uber in santiago.. going outside the airport is key
the publico taxis that generally cost a couple bucks.. you can pay for the whole car for your gear.. the caribe tour station in city city should be on their route (more or less..just ask to go there)
there IS uber in puerto plata city.. but not POP airport or sosua. (you might want to check uber for a ride from puerto plata to cabarete while there..the bus may stop there anyways)
if taking bus to sosua.. you WILL be swamp by taxi drivers.. and unfortunately they will be your best option for getting to cabarete from lower sosua.
whatever they ask you...they will usually accept slightly more than half that. (if you speak no spanish..you will be paying gringo fees, sorry)
vibe of the airports are very different..
seems POP passengers are mostly "groups" of single men from new york going to sosua for fun times with the ugly fat girls there..
flights to STI seems to be majority dominicans returning coming home
