Just watched it...and just makes one sad.

I more and more think that pandemics and meteorites are the only solution to keep this planet alive in its beauty...

What a perfect nature it was before humans.

Imagine planets out there that still are at his point without any “intelligent” species...the beauty must just be unbelievable...hope we never discover those!
Funny thing is that in many Western, if not most, politicians are constantly encouraging people to have more kids.

I wouldn't know much about so-called "green" parties outside of Norway, but whenever the "greenest" parties in Norway are going to save the planet it usually involves Teslas and trains (as if trains are not harming the environment) and never have I heard any of them speak about reducing the human population.

Exactly, that is key.

There is only one problem and that will never stop, only if an alien shows up: Religion !

10 kids for Alaha? Can’t eat sand....

Early 1950s we had around 1/3 of the current population. Image removing 2 out of 3 people you know. Reducing the need for infrastructure, food etc.

Obviously more people has its benefits as well, but was it a big problem that we were only 2.5 billion in the 1950s? Probably not I would argue.

The positive thing is that population will most likely drop again. Generally speaking the richer you get the less kids you have. Hans Rosling had a very good presentation on that - which can be found on YouTube.

On Netflix. Worth a watch
I loved the documentary. Lots of parallels with other past and present issues like recycling, green energy, Covid, and too many more to list.

And this is all in line with the reality that almost every enviormental action is a means to distract the public and make them feel good about saving the enviorment through an idiotic measure such as "banning plastic straws".

The real problem is that as the West declines, and the 2nd world begins to set global policy...... well, just like in Japan and China right now, having pro-environment ideals will eventually be a criminal offense world wide.

But maybe, just maybe, this documentary, along with "Planet of the Humans" is finally showing a shift in leftist enviormental documentaries to a more reality based approach. Maybe it could even be the first step towards combining the common sense and skepticism on the right with the emotion and action of the left.

Na, that's a bit much to hope for. With the West already in decline, I dont see anything even slowing us down on the path humanity is already on.

I am all for capitalism, but in regards to nature a percentage of wealth should go to environment...like the Ocean Cleanup Project, this just makes sense.

As Ocean lovers we should really stop eating fish...it is simply not sustainable.
It if, it requires management and an end to fish farming.
Commercial fishing and animal farming in general are screwing up the planet. It takes such a little effort to avoid animal products in your plate...please think about it before your next meal!
