Get some slippers for the walk.
Exactly!! or just were your sneakers to the launch spot and switch to thin booties.
Be careful, that's rocket science! ;-)

Ha ha

Not one shoe fits all, correct? Condoms are made in different ways as well, so...Some are not into it, personal choice tho.

Re 'feel', I guess some of you feel unfeelable feeling of feel. :)

3rd pair in 10 years of kiting. 200hrs per season. I guess my 200hrs differ to your hours. Only sand for me, so do not blame the tools(or shoes). It is your environment.

Did have a few sesh now, the best build ever:

Feel? Yeah, still feeling it.

We had a local here in Massachusetts that almost lost his foot from a nasty infection he got from stepping on a broken shellfish.....definitely need kite-specific booties IMO.. the more durable style offer little feel and do not work well with straps..

So the Vadateks must give you the least "feel" for the board???

https://vadatek.com/pages/kite-page

I've tried just about every kind of board on the water barefoot and with booties over my years of kiting. Some locations are 99% safe to go barefoot on. Some you have 99% chance of getting cut.

It's all about what you get used to. And the biggest part of that "barefoot feel" is nothing but a fashion contagion. Mix that with the psychological stress relief reward of "taking your shoes off at home after a hard days work", and now you have a complete explanation.

As for wear on booties.....that's the goal! Tear them up, hang them on a wall, and remember the year you had with them.

NRS makes the best water shoes and booties. From socks with a sole to thigh high boots.

I have a pair of the Workboot model. My left foot was broken twice. Once in an accident and another time by a gang of bullies at boarding school with a cricket bat.... right the gentleman's sport....Sick initiation bullshit... it was either kill a helpless cat or get a beating...
i took the beating......

If my foot is acting up for some reason I break out the NRS workboot... that I affectionately call my Franken Booties. They are a bit bulky, but incredibly comfortable, as warm as a pair of wooly boots and fantastic for my messed up left foot.
