PullStrings, it would be most generous of you to also share how you self land with your "belly up" technique. Thanks

nothing wrong with the pullstrings method, but most kiters will need a video to understand what he's doing.

If I have understood correctly this is basically the Flysurfer Cronix sand bag method but without the tripping system for the bottom line. The vid for that is probably still on YouTube if anybody wants to look it up.

Belly up is for launching only.

Self land walking the lines is LE down / belly down.

Depending on wind strength and kite size i will walk 1/3...2/3...yank on top front line or all the way to the kite leading edge and grab my kite.

Then i put it LE down and disconnect and put my bar on top of canopy

Yes i do not detach from chicken loop as i walk lines that way my wet bar does not get all sandy.

EDT has a belly up technique video on this forum.

Yesterday i sandbag launched a 10m in 28 knots of wind effortlessly belly up

Landing in same wind walking the lines all the way to the kite while hooked in then grabbed LE and put belly down.

Yes similar in some way to Flysurfer Cronix sandbag but i have done that way since the early 2000's

Difference is that their way is not recommended in high winds because the kite is held by a line strap and kite will fly up above the sand unstable.

Having the bag weight on top of LE there is zero chance of that and no limit to the amount of high wind that matches the upper limit of kite size used.

A 5 meter in 38 knots is no big deal.

Should not be done with Flysurfer sandbag.

Sorry I did not wish to imply that you were copying anything and I can see why yours is different, I just meant to flag up the video for anybody who did not understand the kite position.

I too remember the good old/bad old days of folding and sanding tips. Still do 5th line launching with C kites on occasions......
