I’ve been using my Samsung Galaxy Watch for about 2 years or so now. It works as a stand alone cell phone and it seems impervious to water so far. I ride with it all the time and wear it when I’m teaching lessons, including sticking it underwater while I’m demonstrating upwind bodydragging and self rescue. Never had an issue and don’t stick it under my wetsuit. Once, while I was out foiling, my wife called to check on me because she couldn’t see me anymore. I was able to answer the call and tell her that I was just taking a really long tack and would be back soon. I do have to say it was a little surreal to be holding a phone conversation while I was out kiting. ;)

Great subject and appreciate the responses so far.

I was considering getting one of these, not exactly designed for water purposes but hoping it would work as a more lightweight option as opposed to a flotation vest.

I just use a waterproof pouch between me and the impact vest. Phone is water resistant so have not had any problems with the little bit of moisture that gets in.
