Hi, just buoght a Slingshot Asylum 2020 and had 2 sessions now.
My last Asylum was a 2014 and I remember a super grippy board. That's what I expected also from this years model (every reviews says the same) but instead I found a board pretty skatey...It's just me?
Any tips from users? (positions of the straps, stance, type of fins)
I ride the 138 with straps.

I've got a 2020 slingshot asylum and find it really grippy. Changed the 2" fins to 1.75" to loosen it up a bit, but I have the 141.

Do you use boots or straps?
Stance?
I was thinking to do the opposite and switch to 2""...

Mostly straps recently with a middle stance.
Have you currently got 1.75" fins, I thought the 2020 model came with 2". Bigger fins will definitely make more grippy.

Yes, 2020 comes with 1.75" and...I just ordered 2"!!!
Also for the stance: I use the wider settings (45.5 cm between the inner screws) that's not so wide I think.
The middle one is 40.5 on the 138, quite narrow for a kiteboard...

Intersting...how is the flex of 2019 model?
2014 has almost with no flex (and I loved it cause rocker and channel work perfectly) this years is so soft that's hard to describe, I really need to ger used to it...

I'm on the 138 V5 with dually V5 pads and it's a awesome board.
Comes with 1.75 fins but can ride it without fins.
Have a 2020 138 monarch and 2021 raptor and this is the pick if the bunch.
It's heavier but that helps grab your edge a bit skatey but is awesome for butter slides etc.
One of the best boards I've ridden.
Although the new formula looks great but its pricey.

I'm not saying that's a bad board, instead I like very much the way it rides trought chop (it seems to always ride on flat water) and especially how it lands.
It's a lot smoother than the 2014 model or even of any other board I have tried...it's just different from what I expected...
Also for the flex, usually I ride a Torque V1 136 that is quite hard to ride (another board that I love but the landings without kite are not soft or gentle for the knees) and I had to change the way to pop with asylum: with the Torque I do a sharp cut on a pretty straight line while with the Asylum I need to carve upwind a lot more and for a longer time to ger lines tension.
I'd like to know if this sensations are right and I'm on the way or I miss something.

I find the board fairly stiff, but I've not ridden other years to compare.
Of the twintips I have, it's my favourite. Cuts through chop well, had great grip (too much for me with 2" fins) and takes a beating (I'm 100kg). I use it for boosting on nuking days, although most of the time recently have been riding strapless and foiling. Had other twintips, this one was the keeper.
