I am 210 and on xr6 12m its almost a 1 kite quiver. BIgger board with light wind optimized rocker totally sliding upwind in 12knots and normal board happy well into high 20s. Great kite for power. Some people complain slow turning but wtf who cares if you are lit. If you are used to other kites you can go a size down.
Waiting for the 7s! Just because I can :)

Have you played with the settings at all to try and help it speed up? I am short days into mine and it definitely is sloooow. If so, do you have a favorite combo? Thanks.

what about weight?

I took a look in Core's site and they've not published the kite's weight.. :(

it could tell us any improvement in low-end conditions compared to previous versions or other related kites (Rebel, SB...)

Not sure why folks say it is slow? Te XR7 11m Is quite close to the speed of a Reedin Super model 9m. Crisp, great bar feeling, feels light at the end of the lines. Faster than Rebel and more stable than Evo (I have not tried the SLS), the kite stays where you left it so very good for rotations, you are never stuck with a kite in the wrong side of the window, great improvement from the XR6, lighter and crisper, not black and white difference.

Last weekend was riding my 10m Orbit V2 and XR6 9m. My Orbit was much much faster than XR. Idk about differences between XR6 and XR7, but was riding XR7 13,5m and it is much slower than my Reach 13m.

This is totally possible, my big kite is a GTS15m so quite fast. I have very little experience with the Orbit. The reach is more like a Nexus but I have not tried the Reach. Between the Orbit and XR6, yup the Orbit will be faster for sure but more top end oriented. This is why I chose the XR7 in 11m, I go out when most folks are on 13s to 17s (I need 12knots with 145x43.5 with lots of rocker) and I stay on the water when the 9s are showing up. The XR7 will definitely get you going and jumping earlier than the Orbit. This is why I don’t like to compare (although I did with the Reedin) companies. Between XR6 and XR7, there is a lot of difference in crispness and reactivity without losing its top shelf lowend power. The XR7 is a bit more like the Evo than the Orbit. Just more fun to fly than the Evo (2020 at least).

XR6 is alot like a Rebel and more park and ride oriented. The 2020 Evo and later are high reactivity kites designed to be worked. Very different styles with the Evo responding to technique while the Rebel/XR respond to sheeting in/out.

If you work it with technique the newer Evos are amazing. If you park and ride the Evo it will work but will not be as good as a Rebel/XR kite.

The new XR7s certainly look pretty!

Like other manufacturers, I think Core is going to get blown out by the newer materials unless they come up with something.

Good summary but the XR7, and this is today’s subject is closer to the newer Evo as far as responsiveness is concerned (I had the 2019 3 weeks 12m in Brazil and owned the 2020 in 7-9 and 14m). I tried the Rebel 2020, 2019 and 2018 (all of them since 2007 when I bought my first).

So the XR7 is crisper than the Evo but lifts like the Rebel. Forget the CR6, this what I am saying, the biggest change is the crisp handling. Are there faster, more responsive kites out there? Of course. My point is that the XR7 feels much more responsive than any other XRs. Enough for me to switch from Nexus to XRs.

Sorry, an 11m XR is not remotely similar to any 9m, let alone a SuperModel 9m.

Yes, the XR7 is more responsive than an XR6. But that's like saying an 18 wheeler from 2021 is more responsive than one from 1992. Don't get me wrong - the XR is the easiest/highest jumping kite on the market, but lets not exaggerate any more than necessary :).
