Shared quiver

So currently I ride a 2020 11m pivot which I got recently (at a bargaib price) and a 2016 9m which I got last year. My wife doesn't kite as often anymore bu still wants to go out every now and then, so I was thinking of how we could have a shared quiver without selling my 11m which still is like new.
We have two twintips, 133x39 and 138x41 and weight is 72 and 65 kilos. I was thinking about adding a 13m reach that I could ride when she has the 11, and another pivot at 8m so if it's windy we can go 9/8, if it's light 13/11 and if it's ib the middle 11/9.
This way when going alone I can always have the perfect kite 13, 11, 9 or 8 and if we are together I can use the smaller twintip.
Most common wind conditions are 14-17 knots avg and windier days 19-22 avg

Sounds like you've already figured it out
. If she doesn't go out often, then you wouldn't need the 8m in those windspeeds. Unless you do the occasional storm kiting.

Cool, yeah for sure I am rarely overpowered on the 9. There are the occasional day when the wind is avg 24-28 where an 8 might be good. I also sort of want an 8 to learn kiteloops eventually hehe. But realistically I need to get better at flying the kite, she has used orbits 2020 but we both find the pivots easier to fly. Maybe it would be smarter to keep the orbit 9 for high winds and when I stop sucking I can learn looping on that kite

I am the same weight as you and I use 8/11m Pivot and 14m Boxer. I like the Boxer a lot for free riding in light winds.
The 8m is a really great size with the Pivot (so is the 11m in my opinion).

Good one ! But... got divorced when the kids were 10-12, on my weeks off I started kitting, hence your cycle. Found the right one married her and got her kiting. Now we are both retired and kite & travel to kite...have gone full circle and stopped at the even better stage. Life is good !
We have a 65 pound difference (30kg) and a 2 meter gap is perfect above 10m and it is 1 m for 9m and smaller.

Met while windsurfing in '93 got married same year and started kitesurfing in '99
17-14-12-10-8-6-5 all of them with bar & lines on.
We each have our own two similar strap surfboards one wide 53cm quad 29L & one narrow 43cm thruster 17L.
Her boards have customized inserts for stance and foot width.
She 52kg me 74kg.
No TT.
No travel.
We live at beach
with year round 15 days a month of rideable fun waves/wind 11kn +++++++++++++++++++++++

Either the pivot or Orbit are great to learn looping. They both come around very predictably without a massive pull. The Orbit 2020 is very stally - both front and back. The 2021 changed the bridle setup to make it more stable and easier to fly, but it's still not easy. It just constantly requires input and never, ever, ever park it at 12. It's amazing, but a pain in the ass for the first 20-30hrs on the water until you become accustomed to it. If you like the Pivots, just stay with them. There isn't a pressing need to switch to Orbits.
