Maybe someone can lend some insight as to the compatibility between these brands’ kites and bars. I have always had Duotone gear but recently pulled the trigger on a Core XR7. I read about the Duotone bars’ compatibility and it seemed like the ‘Y’ position stays the same and no issues should arise.
I am not really pleased with how the setup feels. In conditions where I should be overpowered on the 12m Core, it feels weak and pretty unresponsive. I have tried various settings on the kite itself and have run the range of trim. Is it the case that I need a Core bar to get the most out of this kite?
Thanks in advance.

it sounds like your steering lines are too long...
see if you can adjust them..
when you fly your 12m in say 9kts find the point of trim when the kite starts back stalling from 12 o'clock - that's your bar zero.
I have flown duotone trust bar with 7,9,12 core XRs (XR4,XR5) and it works great... I doubt there is anything in XR7 that would make a difference in bar compatibility..

When you say “bar zero” , what do you mean? Are you saying this is the point where trim should be at its loosest?

no depower and bar all way in...
also if no wind, try equal lines test - with bar all way in and no depower/trim, all 4 lines should be equally tensioned..

I'll double check. My bars have been through the war, so I pulled the trigger a new Core bar today. It was a premature replacement, but I figured why not. In theory, I can't see how it matters, but having both laid out next to each other may be telling.

I have laid out a click bar against a sensor 3. The Y split on the Click bar is about 1.5m higher than the sensor 3. You might see a little backstall at full power but nothing a single click shouldn't remove.
Have you checked the line lengths of the click bar for stretch? That's where I'd start.

just trim your bar and you'll be good.
any modern bar will use 4 equal lenght lines. Besides the Y height (that, personally, I can't note any big difference), they're basically the same. Just with different end connecting points that can be easily adjusted with pigtails

Imho the first consideration should be whether the flagging system is compatible !
