As I said "obviously not"

It is also now obvious you are not aware of its background, understand it or how to apply it?

Hit rock bottom, still digging?

Ask the kite "safety guy" on the forum. He should know off the bat, and the answers?
That doesn't even make sense.

And to the ESL usere in the forum, posing questions as answers is not how a debate works - at least not in English. Sarda is hiding behind this, without any regard for how bad it makes Sarda look to "English as first language" users, and without any regard for how it confuses "English as Second Language" forum users.

Sarda, do you have a point you are trying to make, or are you only asking questions? And here's a little hint.....your point wont have a question mark at the end of it. And if it does have a question mark at the end in the rare case where it is justified, your response to a request for clarification WON'T HAVE A QUESTION MARK AT THE END OF IT!
Are you imagining you are in a debate?
Are you still imagining my "position"?
Did the toaster analogy go straight over your head?
If you live in a van, do you know what an electric toaster is?
Are you overthinking things?
Did you use Google and see a triangle that makes no sense to you?

Risk is risk irrespective

Do you still not know why PPE is considered the least effective method of hazard or risk control? Hint: can be answered in 5 or 6 words and not an endless stream of bullshit, of which you paint a bleak picture.

Why are kiteboarding incidents such as the one outlined and the subject of this topic deemed "acceptable?

Are you part of that reason?

Good luck

Pulley, you're back!

So you don't think a PLB would have changed the outcome in this scenario?

Stick one of those on the side of your helmet, and it could prevent death by hunger.

And by the way always without helmet.

Days this year:
June 19 days
May 27 " "

February 17 " "
January 15 " "

The need for helmet is strongly exaggerated by you Sir the V Esquire.

Good job on kiting, pulley! You got some days in.

And you make an excellent point that the need for a helmet and other safety gear is exaggerated by me. Allow me to correct that -

Only people who will get into an accident need to wear seat belts.

Only people who are in a plane that makes an emergency landing on land or water need to know safety procedures and where the exits are.

Only climbers who will have a piece of gear fail on them should retire worn gear early as a preventative.

Only kiters who will one day be dragged into rocks or lofted and dropped onto a hard surface such as hard pack sand need to wear a helmet.

And only kiters who will be swept out to sea because of a drop in the wind or gear failure, should wear a locator beacon.

So yes I have definitely exaggerated the statistical need for safety gear. My question to you is, 'Can you tell me with a 99.9% degree of surety which of us are the ones that will definetly need it?'

Oh, and can you tell me the winning lotto numbers for tomorrow too?

No, you can't, and that's the point of preventative safety measures and using safety gear. It's preparation for the unforseen anomaly. And a wise person, understands that there is no such thing as a crystal ball to see into the future.

Unfortunately, I don't think a helmet will help you in that situation. Maybe the pharmaceutical industry has some "happy pills" that could help you with that problem.

And please also note that those "happy pills" are not a substitute for helmet or locator beacon or wrist guards.

Don't need pills from your stash in glove box.

Better to have 15 to 20 happy days of kitesurfing per month.

(without helmet)

New month started great already with very fun ocean session !
