Cabrinha Spectrum size beginner 70-76kg

Postby sub5mango » Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:20 pm

I'm a beginner at the water start stage. Is the Spectrum a good board? For lessons they've had me on a duotone Gonzales 143. There's nothing second hand where I am so it has to be new. Ouch! There's a Cabrinha Spectrum 140x42. Would this be a good size? The next one down at 136x41 sounds a bit small maybe?

I’m also 73kg and have a Spectrum 140x42. It’s a good size with a wide range. It is an easy and smooth TT for learning. I like it with my 12m in choppy conditions.

That's a good single board for your weight.

But most places, it's better to go with an oversized board, AND an undersized board. This let's you switch boards instead of kites.

For sure the bigger board. You will progress faster on a bigger board and it will take years to outgrow it. Even 142-144 is fine.
