In June, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Director Dan Eichinger proposed banning entering the water on so-called “Red Flag” days, when waves are three to five feet or higher, and conditions are deemed “dangerous.” The proposed order, if passed, would go into effect this August.

These bureaucracies are the butt hole of a diseased humanity. Nearly nothing that comes out of them is useful, besides a place for these bureaucraticly minded morons to go to "work".... if you can call what they do "work".

Well, maybe that's a little harsh. They actually do create "work" for others who have the patients and motivation to fix/oppose thier stupid and harmful policy.

In my experience "working" with these agencies, I have come across one that I was impressed with. But that was mostly due to the bar being set so low by other agencies. And yes there are good people who work in these agencies. But if you give these good people enough time in these agencies..... well calling them "dead inside" is definetly less than tactfull, so I like to use the term "martyred souls".

And if you ever want anything done or need help

Call in this order:

1. Pizza delivery - 10 minutes
2. Ambulance - 15 minutes
3. Police - 20 minutes
4. DNR - either undetermined, or just a flat out "no, we can't (won't) help you, or the situation at hand.


Truly, this policy is worthy of a "Picard double face palm".

I'm thankful for all the surfers that live in Michigan. They were been a great help at the meeting last week. I hope we get an exception carved out for surfers, kiters, kayakers. Otherwise we'll only be able to kite the city and county beaches.
