Postby Turrentine » Mon Jul 26, 2021 2:27 pm

Looking for kiteboarding friends in Charleston SC at or near my level. Completed 3 lessons and can ride in both directions. Hoping we can help each other and stay safe while learning! :D I live on Sullivans Island at station 26 1/2

Lucky you, good luck. I rode there a couple years ago and there were lots of folks of various abilities on the beach, maybe just start chatting with folks. But there were also some kooks, including one guy who insisted on launching a 12m when everyone else was on 9m or less, and inevitably ended up out of control and way down the beach.

Too bad you just missed out on the Cabrinha demo in Charleston. Tons of kiters up there for sure. Hit up Estuary Bean's and Barely as it's a good kiter hangout now and the Scott is a new kiter and about as energized on the sport as you can be. Have fun up there!

PS. Don't forget to go get a Drifter Lager at the brewery as it goes to supporting the Newfound Freedom Project teaching people with physical challenges to kite and wing! The beer is damn taste also!
