Looking for safe and obviously waterproof Bluetooth headphones or mp3 player.
I want to hear external noise/talk/calls/shouts while listening to music so I do not miss anything/anybody
So probably needs an mike (like Sony below) or to use bone conductivity I guess.
I like Sony NV WS413 MP3 player with ambient mike - does it work for kiting?
Searched here and found only old threads with broken links, hope its ok to ask again.

I was thinking to myself safe music? Is there music that will pump you up so much that you become reckless? Maybe firestarter by prodigy is unsafe. Bach is always a safe choice very calm.

Sure by jacque Loussier trio. Siciliana or Pastorale in C minor is very good for boosting ☺

I use Aftershokz Xtrainerz, no complaints. No wires, ears are left open.

Thanks, this looks to be a really good player.
Brilliant that ears are open all the time.
Wondered if similar style or the same make bluetooth headphones exist?
Something which will work with a Garmin Music watch or a mobile phone?

why would you use open ear headphones?
two really common problems for kiters are surfer's ear and also eardrum ruptures from a crash. Waterproof earplugs protect you from both! I consider it a real nice bonus that if you wear earplugs while kiting you are getting protection for free. As it is I have to wear ear plugs already have plenty of damage and can't take any more.

I have the ws-413. Does work for kiting, but the ambient mike is useless on water/when wet.

Thanks, good to know mic does not work for us. I should have guessed, I suppose.

Absolutely. Could you recommend in ear headphones which work well for kiting and allow us to hear surround sounds, like someone shouting "watch out"? And not stopping working when a little water makes it into ear?
Most swimmers say they do not exist
I generally wear a hood when water is below 13-14c which is about 9 months a year in Scotland
plus I am a beginner so do not jump that high.
But yes a very good point, thanks
