Is a North trust bar 2015 (
https://www.windmadness.com/product/nor ... h-element/) compatible with a Duotone Rebel 2021?
It is a fifth line bar (it can handel a loaded 5th but can also be unloaded) with a high V.

Don't buy that bar
Buy a 4 line bar
"Y" split is way too high about half way up
Kite will fly weird and not perform as designed

Thanks, I own the bar already for some years. (to fly with my NEO 6 and 9 2015)
I have a also a North 2020 Navigator 4-line bar with very low V and then that North 5th line bar with high V.
I have the opportunity to buy a Rebel 2021.
But I guess none of those bars are compatible with a new Duotone Rebel?

Maybe? Manufacturers never mix and match so it's up for us to test and find out. Try it and let us know. I don't like making assumptions about high y and v compatibility. Just try it out. If you make bar mods make sure your safety still works.

You have both bars so buy the kite ( what size i'm just curious) and fly with each bar to test it.
Edt is correct that it might work
All my Rebels are older than 2018
All of them have their own bars/lines 5th elem
5/6/8/10/12/14m
Lines on always is my way to go
Ha ha life is too short to attach/ detach
Ha ha especially 5 lines
Cheers

haha, indeed what a hassle attaching 5 lines on a small crowded beach!
It's a Rebel 9

The 2019 Rebels had multiple attachment points depending if you were using the 4 line or 5 line bar which is to compensate for the change in the split point of the Y.
I'd be surprised if this has changed so you should be good to go. Bear in mind though that the kite no longer needs a taut 5th line to fly properly.

On 2020 and before north/duotone had a fake 5th line that you could put in a little pocket on the leading edge if you didn't use it.
I have a 2021 and it's written on the leading edge 4/5 lines, but there isn't that fake 5th line so I'm not sure how you're supposed to attach the 5th line of the bar.

what? Just make a leader and attach it to the pump loop. It's not tensioned so it doesn't have to be reinforced. because of the low load you don't even have to splice just make some knots in any old kite line you have laying around and cut it to length.
to figure out the length, pump up the kite, walk around to the back and look where the rear lines attach. Then tie a line from the pump and bring it straight down 90 degrees bisecting an imaginary line connecting those two rear attachment loops on the kite. Now add 2 inches. That's the right length for an untensioned 5th line. Now make a knot right there and cut your line to fit. Fly the kite and if it's off by a little bit move the knot.
