Be careful out there. I’ve bought and sold on ikite classifieds many times but scammers are getting more prevalent and proficient. I’ve had some fun, but worry they will get too good. I’ve started requiring a phone call to sus out of their legit, unless their social media presence is overwhelmingly convincing that their an active kiter.
Ok, maybe underpriced, but maybe legit.
Hmmmm!
Hint: soul has two deflate Velcro on TE, not a zipper. But regardless, no response… ah well.

Be careful with all the cabrinha products for $200-400 as well. There's been a ton of traffic posting super sketchy moto's and switchblades. Sometimes you'll see the same pictures for various prices from different locations around the country within minutes of each other. Remember to check to see if the pictures have been reused, always use paypal with buyer protection, if the price is too good to be true it probably is, call and speak with the seller, etc.
Be careful out there my fellow thrifty kiters

Yeah I'm dealing with this crap right now selling my Pivots......
"Greets! Can you ship items to Papua New Guinea??? I'll send extra monies with a check once items have been shipped. Saludos! - Gary B."
The scammers are doing their homework lately! Yours is particularly impressive! He seems to know some jargon and few sales details about the kite.
I don't think that's a big ask to send a pic with the kite and your name/current newspaper or whatever to verify ownership and condition.
I put in my ad that I'm willing to do all of that and even Skype/Whatsapp call to virtually check out my kites. I did this for a lawyer in Brazil that bought my last Carved Imp 6. It's the only way in my opinion to somewhat make a blind transaction legit.

It is a pest. I would say 80-90% of ads are fake. The piece of paper with your name or phone number put on top of the kite is a great test. Usually you can spot the fake ones ahead of contacting them.
Look for:
User: JesseRich12377 (lots of random number)
Picture: no unique user picture
Ads text: Often very poor grammar. Very similar to other ads. Never much used.
Price: often too good to be true

I got scammed once on ikitesurf for a bar.
Last time I have used their classified I was to buy a kite but when I asked for recent phone with a note, the seller disappeared.

By far the most elaborate scammer i've seen so far. And I enjoy inquiring on all of the good "deals" on foil kites.

I feel I've gotten lucky with what I have bought.
Next time I would zoom or facetime and have them show me the item.

I will never understand people falling for these scams. Always PAYPAL - Goods and Services and that's where the story ends. No PAYPAL equals scam. Even Venmo is sketchy ..there used to be a lot of Iphone Venmo scams back in the day.
