The polar chart is amazing!

I like to compare my tt and hf rides here on our local spot using the polar chart ;)

Aleks, something easy that I was thinking.... maybe the app (woo+GPS, the app that doesn't need the sensor) could vibrate when maximum speed is beaten like what happens when we're in a big air session (Woo app). It would help us fine "tune" the fastest direction to take...
Garmin native apps have an alert feature - the watch vibrates and screen changes after you cross certain speed threshold (that you setup) - 40kmh for example. I thought of adding the same option to my apps. I think it is better then alert of just crossing session best speed. You kind of know where your limits are, so you can set alert in that area. When you feel watch vibrating, you know you are close to your limit, so you keep pushing.

Does that sound ok?

The newly released Garmin Fenix7 has native activity "Kiteboard" added. Most probably it will be added to Fenix6 series in coming software updates.

After 5 years of use my Garmin Fenix 3 has died (buttons non-responsive, even after reset, time incorrect, etc.). So now I am looking for a Garmin replacement and I'm not sure what model to choose. I'm leaning toward the Fenix 5 or 6, but not the 7 (even with the discount Garmin is offering me, it would still be over $500). Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have been using the Fenix 6X Pro Solar for about year now, works great, use it with Woo and have real time view GPS and jumps from the app. This is the first Garmin watch for me so nothing to compare it with.

After talking with Garmin, they said it sounded like a sticky button. So I soaked the watch in warm water for 15 min., but it did not solve the problem. I figured I had nothing to lose so I opened the watch, took the display and motherboard out of the case, cleaned the salt residue around the o-ring seal, and sprayed silicone on the buttons both inside and out. The buttons worked a whole lot better, so I reassembled the watch and viola! the watch worked fine again. The culprit was the start/stop button as previously when I turned the watch on it went to the apps like I had pressed that button. For now I am going to forgo buying another watch and maybe buy a new wing. :D

My fix of the start/stop button did not last so I am considering purchasing a new smart watch. I'm looking at either the Vivoactive 4 ($179 on Garmin's website) or Fenix 6 ($349 on Garmin's website). Any thoughts on which one I should buy? BTW I also use my smartwatch for cycling, SUP, wingfoiling, swimming, weight lifting workouts, etc.

@purdyd - need more than time and tide. But a tide chart on a Garmin watch would be a good feature. I'll have to check the Connect iq store for a tide app.

Save some money and buy a second hand Garmin 6X Pro on eBay.

Lots of people upgrading to the latest model. :thumb:

I bought a Garmin Epix2

It has a much brighter screen than the Fenix - therefore is easier to see in full sun and glare. I'm super happy with it. Except after about half an hour the woo app loses sync with the Woo and it stops real time reporting of jump height etc. But I think this is a flaw with the Woo rather than the watch.

I got a fenix 6 pro second hand, use it with woo 3.0, works fine. The only probs I've had is the charger, you have to make sure it's clicked in securely otherwise it doesn't charge. I use it for swimming, cycling, running and mountain biking.
