Porsche will be a sponsor for the next KOTA. They also announced a collaboration with Duotone starting with new features in the Academy App (fitness exercise). Other projects are in the pipes.
They also have 2 officials riders : Rita Arnaus and Liam Whaley. I wonder if they'll have to switch brand ?
They press release:

CATCHING THE WIND ON... KITESURFING.
You know the feeling when a #project comes to life? These days when you can finally speak about something that has been in the works for a while? Well, today is one of these days: I am happy to announce that from November on we will expand our sports #sponsorship portfolio through kitesurfing. Kitesurfing is all about athleticism, precision and pushing boundaries – a perfect fit for Porsche. Together with our partners we want to contribute to the #development of the sport and make the #excitement even more tangible. Our approach will have different facets:
- Sponsorship of the renowned Red Bull "King of the Air" competition in Cape Town. Every year, kiters from all over the globe meet there to crown the best of them
- #Partnership with the leading kitesurf brand Duotone. Fans will soon be able to experience the first result of the #collaboration on the Duotone Academy App, e.g. with specific fitness exercises led by Porsche motorsport athletes. And more is still to come
- Finally, we will be working with pro athletes Rita Arnaus and Liam Whaley
We believe that kitesurfing will connect us to attractive partners and help us to find new friends for the #brand. See you in Cape Town!

a bit disappointing though, as it was NO 911. Not even a Cayman

When the press release reads as badly as that and says kite surfers are “pulled around by a stunt kite “
You know that Porsche are really committed and give a shit. Ffs

For a global brand and for the riders it’s embarrassing the lack of care.
Given they got “the translation” for the rider quotes perfect it’s more likely the marketing dept fucked up

“ The spectacular water sport is all about high speeds and dramatic feats: while standing on a surfboard, kiters allow themselves be carried across the surface of the water by a stunt kite while using the wind and waves to perform breathtaking jumps.”
It makes no sense at all unless you were describing late 90s kitesurfing
