Google it - the correct generic term is "ram air kite". But actually they should be called "flying sleeping bags".
Maybe you should google again because today´s correct generic term is "foil kite" which is derived from "parafoil". No one calls them "Ram air kites" anymore except you, F-One, Mackiteboarding and kiters that are over 60 by now.

i've been caught having to sleep overnight in my car below freezing up north. Pump me up is right. Foil kites make way better sleeping bags than tube kites. always bring a foil kite you never know!

I prefer to think of it as exceptional consistency. Just like the ‘ram’ air kites themselves, going above and beyond! 😆😉

Ignore the LIES and exaggerations. Ram airs are grossly inferior compared to inflatables.
IT'S REALY TIME TO IGNORE YOU PUMPY!!!!!! You're a serious waist of words on this site. :nono:
After all of these years, you do nothing but "crash" more and more. Your years of being wrong must be infecting you. You're pathetic.

You seriously need to get it right ya idiot, they're called foil kites now, not ram-airs. Only fools like you call them ram-airs. Please step into the 21st century and get with the program!

I'm now curious, what do call a single-skin foil kite dumbass? A "ram-sheet" ?
I'll be waiting for a competent answer from such an incompetent person... you. Unfortunately I'll be waiting for a while because you'll have NO answer (or at least an intelligent one) because it's not in your skill set.

Btw, you seriously better not go to the next summer Olympics. You'll be really pissed!

Predictions are notoriously difficult to get right. Its actually kite strings that have crashed in 2021, people are holding onto inflato tube wings with their bare hands.

OK, time for a bit of etymology for you ram air kooks.

The term "foil", as used in kitesurfing and hydrofoiling, is derived from the Latin word "folium", which means "leaf". The term "foil", as originally used in kitesurfing and hydrofoiling, referred to the geometric shape of the kite/blade. In recent years in popular usage, the term "foil" has been used to describe all ram air kites, but technically it's not correct.

"Ram air" refers to the principle of using airflow created by a moving object to increase internal ambient pressure. Any kite that uses this principle is, by definition, a "ram air" kite.

Yours sincerely,
Pumpy
