I agree it reminds you more of some local competition on a random beach somewhere. I get that kiting isn't big and that there is only so much money you would put into it, but I also agree part of the appeal of Red Bull is that they take niche events and make them look "pro".

It's not like they need 37 cameras, but a couple more and maybe a drone would have been cool. Add for example some graphics indicating height and things would have been a lot more interesting to follow.

Interesting that Marc was only on a 138x41 board at 87kg

Only? That’s big! I ride a 128x39 at 95 kg.

It’s not freestyle!

Did only I saw this :o :(
Everything can happen etc, but this is not good move IMHO ...
I missed that, thx for sharing.
The attitude of some riders is sad. Specially if someone won the event that often before. For some riders competition goes above everything.

I did a competition where Kevin showed a not nice side before and after the competition…he will do anything to win.

I guess 138x41 is bigger than many on here would recommend for a 87kg rider (even if it seems to be shifting a bit - towards bigger boards on here as well).

Another sad thing is that people think Marc won because he is sponsored by North.

Few years ago advancing to the next round was stolen from him…he did a new trick no one pulled before and wasn’t awarded for it.

Now he showed amazing riding, big variety, technical, height, and extremity. His Megaloop where his kite almost stalled was the most extreme of the event, big wow there!

Well earned and at 32 showing the youngster that the older still can rock.

All riders where amazing, and looking forward to 2022!

Nick rode a 9m in all his heats this year.

We also had a spare 9m flying the whole time he was on the water.

There were 2x 10m rigged on the beach ready to go both days but wind favoured the 9s.

Cheers

Amen...It was about time for Marc to get rewarded. Fully agree with above!

This year I think Janek should have ended up higher as well...that round with Joshua did not make any sense (how could he have gotten a bigger variety score)

Compared to some of the board sizes of other lighter competitors though
