65 kg makes a difference yes, local wind effects as well. But I wouldn't give it more than 8m...calculating you are two m of height...I wouldn't look at the lines to compare.

Anyway, it's very high for such light wind 👍🏻

12.3 was my max that day the pic was taken. My jumps are between 7-12m in the 12-17kn range. It could be a photo of a 8-10m jump who knows but they are all up there.

I would look at the lines since the kite is in the pic and it's a good reference. I wish I was 2m height but i'm only 1.70 :D :D :D

Guys, let me know if you make it to Brazil one day…I want to ride with you in max. 17 knots and compare, because I can’t believe what I am reading here.

If we talk 17 average, with gusts in mid 20’s, it’s a different story….
Cumbuco and Cauipe lagoon are not the best places for boosting high in Brazil...

Toby, you know that wind get stronger as we go up, in the northwest direction, on the Brazil shoreline.

You would probably jump about 20m or more in Prea even with warm wind.

well... BAKL was in Tatajuba and the riders were jumping 15-17m without kickers

Kite is not right over your head so difficult to use as a reference.

I think the point is Toby needs to move away from LEI.

How high can ... you jump with 20mph/17.38knts of wind??
I don't know the precise answer to this question, but I know that I jump much higher than everyone else. I don't use a Woo, and I don't have videos or photos. There is no evidence. But, in my heart of hearts, I know that it's true. :naughty:

Havre you're right, not easy to judge by a picture. That's why I've got a Woo and Surfr recording my jumps.
And you also got it right, my point was exactly that. Foil kites have changed my lightwind game. In the summer we have 12-17kn most of the time and after swicthing to a foil kite for those winds i have fallen inlove with the lightwinds. No one on an inflatable can pass the 6m jump mark in those winds with what ever size they use, on my local spots. The only guy here that can also jump high in min winds is another guy on a Soul. He's always a couple of meters below me ( heavier guy) but still gets pretty high with a lot of hangtime.

So the point is I'm getting similar numbers in 12-17kn as if I was on a 10m inflatable in 20-25kn. And all that is on a 10m Soul.

Toby I'm surprised you still haven't tried one of the modern foils. It would be pretty handy for Brazil.

sounds good !

First: too expensive for me :-(

Second: love my LE..and so far I am progressing.
But I might come to the point where I need it...specially for those 1080+ rotation tricks...have about 1000 on my to do list...

But, still didn't see any one on a foil jumping higher here in same winds, but I assume it is because no good riders on foils around here...only those on hydrofoils...they consistantly go much higher than me in lighter winds...no chance for me ;-)

yesterday Charles Brodel won the GKA hydrofoil on a Halo 10m (I guess). The wind was about 17k at Iracema's beach and he was surely jumping above 10m.

For strictly hooked stuff, foil kites seem to be the best choice due to the huge hang time and, hey... you can always get one second hand in Cumbuco ;)
