I have a 2015-16 cabrinha spectrum 148x44 i think, had it since then.
My first twintip. Also have the Cabrinha Ace wood 138 or 139 i fergit.
I was going to get the 2021 cabrinha spectrum 144x43 as an upgrade… but
What else is out there that people like for freeride on flat soundside water?

I can't say enough good about the Core Fusion 5. Here's my review of it:

It's pricey, but worth it IMHO. Judging by your location, you should be able to get a hookup via:

What do you mean by "upgrade"? going for a 148 to a 144 is not really an upgrade. I depends on your weight, kites you use and conditions you want to ride? I'm 220lb and I have a spectrum 144 which I use in lighter winds days - I recently added a North Atmos 141 to my quiver of boards and I love it for very powered days. I also have a 165 Mako which I use when is very choppy of waves as nothing cuts chop like the Mako. If you are looking for flat water riding the spectrum is a good all around board for that, if you are looking for more upwind capabilities and powered riding for boosting, then the spectrum is just too soft for that, that's when I use my Atmos. My suggestion, go try a few boards in the conditions you like to ride and see what feels good.
Cheers,
G.

the spectrum i have now ~2015 and a 2021 spectrum are made of different materials and board design i think. i am meaning upgrading the spectrum to a 2021 model. i use my smaller ace in high winds, the spectrum as an all around TT and my lightwind dave Wing 155 for light wind days. i am about 173 lbs.

173lbs = 78 kg.
When I started 2919 I could choose between Spectrum and Ace.
Always went for the Spectrum as it was much more forgiving.
I guess by now I would call it the comfortable Cadillac. The Ace would be the sportscar
Imho the spectrum is a forgiving freerider, pretty soft.
For the size I can not recommend.
Personally For the large one , I would choose something more aggressive than for the small one

What are you missing from the current one?
So difficult to recommend boards as there are a million different ones out there. I try to borrow boards occasionally just to get a feel for how they differ, but even then there is only so many boards you get to ride and obviously testing a board for 30 mins won't make me an expert. My impression is that therefore people tend to recommend what they themselves ride.

My current 2015 spectrum 148x44 is fine as a TT, but a bit of a hog in handling and weight. Being a 2015 model spectrum, my 2021, which just arrived an hour ago, is just what I had in mind. It is redesigned, thinner, lighter and 144x43. Whats not to like, not to mention the steal I got on it and H1 pads. It looks like my Ace but with a thinner profile and materials, little more flex, and rocker.

If you got a 01 model Spectrum 144, Congrats! -it's a great board. There isn't a 2021 collection from Cabrinha though. Starting last fall, we started using 00, then 01S in Feb 2021, then 01F in Sept 2021, etc. Enjoy.
