I did some research on the aluula topic but could't find any statements about fast abrasion. I postponed my purchase to the 2nd gen aluula kites, to see how this new material is holding up over time. And as mentioned, I couldn't find any backing up this theory.
But I can tell only from my own experience as my aluula is just a few month old.
Hopefully this will not prove true

Have seen several year old allula kites and none show degradation of the material. OR are good with warranties so feel free to submit a ‘claim’ if you see problems.

I went through few pages of comments, but I didn't notice anyone giving feedback after using OR Aluula kites over longer period of time. I have 2 friends who have Aluulas (Rise 10m and Flight 12m). After a year or year and half Aluula seems pretty dead to me. Coating on the material is totally cracked. In some places where theres cracks, coating have come off and you can see bladder through the yarns. We live next to Baltic sea so no salt, no high temperatures and not too much wind over the year.

Is this rare or I have missed comments/topics about this subject?

Sounds atypical - I have had my Flight for 2+ years and my RISE(s) starting this season and no issues. Aluula is perfect on all of them. Amazingly this is still true even after I screwed up trying to kite a central Oregon lake which is NOT really a good spot and dragged my Flite across a paved parking lot in a botched launch. Same kite survived a BAD self launch error on day#1 into the reeds at Rooster, so all in all my experience as a proxy, I'd say the ALUULA is worth it...

Sounds they are looking at wings and a bit later the big air (probably Rise) first for new canopies.
Personally happy to hear they will finally add some aluula allround kites (Crave and smaller Flite sizes)
I think for most people doing a bit of everything including foiling these will be the ideal kites that are pretty darn good in every discipline.

I like a lot my ROAM Aluula 10 M for foiling, I use hydrofoil and I am looking for another kite for foiling in more than25+ knots ¿which do you sugest? I am 70 kg and use 800 cm foil wing
Roam 8m? Rise 8m?

Depends on what you aim to do on the foil.
Roam and Rise are really different kites so that’s kinda weird you are considering both.
Get the roam if you don’t care about jumping or other things that need lift (eg tacks).
Party trick of the Rise are kiteloops, not sure how relevant that would be for you. In general I don’t see many people doing megaloops on a foil…. if you also want to use it on a twintip might be ok-ish option.
Most people would be out on something smaller then 8m for 25+ knots though unless you want to ride really powered for eg proper high jumps (10m+) or race.

For general freeriding/waveriding I would personally look at something in the 5m or possibly smaller.
For context: for me 75kg W679, my 6m craveHL sweet spot would be 18-25 knots and I like to ride with some power (I could get started with the 6m in about 12 knots probably if I was desperate)

Your roam has a very on/off feeling. If you like this and don’t miss the lift you should probably stick with it.
If you want more lift but less on/off: consider the crave (will come in aluula beginning next year). For even more
hangtime wait for the new aluula flite in smaller sizes (also next year).


Another consideration: aluula kite is nice but it’s benefits are a lot smaller when the wind is this high.
Moving to the HL kites or Dacron won’t really be so big of a difference compared to the larger sizes especially if you want to start at 25 knots.

If at all possible, try before you buy, and take everything you read here with a healthy dose of skepticism. Proof is in the ToW ( Time on-the Water ).

IMO going so close in size wouldn't be necessary ( unless you like foil-jumping ) given the huge range of Aluula kites. Also IMO small Aluula Roams on foil in high wind are fantastic, well worth the cost if you can manage it.

Thanks a lot leeuwend and GregK, I like my ROAM 10 M in 10 to 20 knots, there are no waves in my spot so I like jumping and Roam is not so bad as most people think for jumping. I would like another kite for +25 knots, 6m I think is a good advice, sure. I just foil, not TT, ¿Any advantage in foiling with Crave or Rise? Not waves in my spot so a bit boring without jumping,. ..

I have 10/7 ROAM. 80% foiling
The gap is nice, considering the huge range it offers, you even could use 10/6 combo
I was out with the 7m in 15-20 knots and it was in its sweet spot. 25 is the upper end of the 7m imo
