I think the confusion started with the wording in the news article. The journal article is more to the point if not a bit long. Peer review in the time of Covid?
Yes. That's why news articles on science should almost always be seen as clickbait, then if a journal article is not available to read, ignored.
Scientists are shit at communicating while science communicators are shit at science.
